20 OCTOBER 2025

World Pasta Day 2025. A Lasagna Celebration.

Some days were made to be celebrated. Others feel like they were made just for us.

October 25th is World Pasta Day—and if that isn’t a good enough excuse to fall back into layers of béchamel, roasted pumpkin, and ragù, then we don’t know what is.

At Lasagnariet, every day is lasagna day. But October? It hits differently. The air is sharper, the scarves come out of hiding, and the forest turns golden. You pass a group of kids in oversized jackets kicking leaves, and for a second, you think: Is this the most comforting time of the year? Probably. Especially if it ends with a fork.

When comfort calls, pasta answers
Autumn in Stockholm is polite at first. A soft chill in the morning. A few yellow leaves, nothing dramatic. And then, all of a sudden, it happens. The shift. The light dims early, the forest smells of wet moss and bonfire smoke, and everything you eat starts to feel like a small act of self-care.

That’s when lasagna makes its entrance—not flashy, not loud, just exactly what you need.

We think of those Sunday walks in Nackareservatet or Judarskogen, cheeks cold, hands tucked in pockets, breath visible. You come home, kick off your muddy shoes, and open the lid of a warm box. Steam rises. Cheese bubbles. The room fills with the kind of smell that makes everyone put their phones down.

Lasagna isn’t just a dish. It’s a decision.

A tale of two lasagnas
To celebrate this glorious intersection of autumn and pasta obsession, we’ve made two seasonal lasagnas that speak the language of October fluently.

One for the meat-lovers. One for the vegetarians. Both designed to warm your soul (and your toes).

Salsiccia & Pumpkin
This one’s for the cozy crowd. Roasted pumpkin, sweet and caramelized. Fennel-spiced Italian salsiccia, slow-cooked into a hearty ragù. A sage-infused béchamel that wraps around it all like a wool blanket.

Every bite is deep and rich and just slightly smoky, like the memory of a forest picnic you forgot to plan. We top it with Fontina DOP, a cheese from Valle d’Aosta, Italy—not very popular in Sweden yet, but unforgettable once you try it.

It’s the kind of lasagna you eat slowly, with friends, or maybe just with your own thoughts and a good playlist.

Pumpkin, Chestnut & Porcini (Vegetarian)
For those who’ve ever picked up a chestnut on a forest path and wondered what it might taste like folded into béchamel... this one’s for you.

Creamy pumpkin purée, nutty chestnut crumble, earthy porcini mushrooms with just a touch of white wine in the sauce—it’s autumn captured in layers. There’s no need for meat here. The flavors are bold, generous, and satisfying on their own. It’s rich, but somehow light. Sweet, but also deep and savory. A lasagna that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.

Pasta, but Swedish October edition
We know lasagna isn’t born of Swedish roots. But this time of year? It feels right at home.

Because when the light disappears before dinner and the weather turns from “höstigt” to “it’s raining sideways,” something magical happens in Stockholm apartments. Blankets appear on sofas. Socks get fuzzier. Candles light themselves, almost. And people gather—around tables, trays, or take-away bags—to warm up from the inside out.

You don’t need a three-course dinner or fancy cutlery. You need something warm. Something simple. Something good.

That’s where we come in.

The way we see it...
Lasagna is generous. It doesn't care if you're dressed up or wearing yesterday's hoodie. It shows up the same way—hot, layered, and ready to take care of you.

We roll our pasta with passion. We roast and simmer and season with the kind of care that takes time. Our salsiccia comes from trusted suppliers. Our pumpkin is local. And our chestnuts? Well, they traveled a bit. But they earned their spot.

Lasagna isn’t trendy, and it’s never trying to impress. That’s why we love it.

Let’s celebrate
This World Pasta Day, don’t just say “pasta is life.” Live it.
Plan a forest walk. Text a few friends. Light some candles. Maybe you cook—but maybe you don’t. Maybe you just open a warm box and let the layers do the talking.

Celebrate the season, the simplicity, and the shared love of food made from scratch.

Because in a world full of fast fixes and frozen dinners, there’s something revolutionary about taking your time. Layer by layer. Slice by slice. Lasagna reminds us to slow down and savor.

And that’s worth celebrating.

Order online, swing by after your nature walk, or just make sure you don’t show up to your friend’s apartment empty-handed.
It’s pasta season. Let’s celebrate it properly.
