Stockholm’s Heartbeat in Five Days
From August 13 to 17, 2025, Stockholm transforms into its grandest stage—Kulturfestivalen, the city's largest and most welcoming cultural celebration, where entry is free and experiences are boundless.

With over a million visitors expected, Kulturfestivalen unfolds across multiple iconic venues—Gustav Adolfs torg, Kungsträdgården, Sergels torg, Skeppsbron, Strömgatan, and Norrbro. Each location offers a different layer of experience, collectively bringing art, story, and movement into the city’s streets:
Gustav Adolfs torg pulses with big-name performances and open-air concert energy—from the Rix FM Festival with acts like Peg Parnevik and Marcus & Martinus, to later headliners such as Daniel Adams-Ray, Stefflon Don, Ricky Rich, and Jamala.
Kungsträdgården becomes a multigenerational hub: daytime family theatre, interactive exhibits, and storytelling blend into evening dance-band nostalgia with groups like Larz-Kristerz and Martinez.
Sergels torg, within the UNG program, unfurls a vibrant youth-driven tapestry of sports, music, and art—showcasing fresh energies and equal parts creativity and play.
Skeppsbron, Strömgatan, Norrbro offer everything from street food and workshops to intimate performances on floating stages—with culinary gems like Baos & Bowl, Heaven Street Food, and Gelatotrucken peppering the landscape.
The festival spans disciplines—music, dance, theatre, family programming, visual arts, literature, film, and crafternoon workshops—ensuring there’s truly something for everyone, regardless of age or background.
Why It Resonates
Inclusive by design: No tickets, no barriers—just the city turned cultural playground.
Deeply democratic: From chart-topping pop to folk bands, kids' performances to up-and-coming creators—everyone shares the same ground.
Fluid and atmospheric: Festival zones shift tone from playful to poetic, with pop-up cinema, floating sound stages, and live dance encircling Stockholm’s historic architecture.
Cross-generational appeal: Whether you’re 5 or 105, Kulturfestivalen invites you to sing, dance, laugh, learn, and explore.
Layers, Culture… and Maybe Lasagna
At Lasagnariet, we see the city a bit like a lasagna: built in layers, each with its own flavor and personality. Kulturfestivalen is one of those events we truly love—where creativity, food, music, and people come together in the most unpretentious, heartfelt way.
And who knows? Maybe next year, you’ll spot our Lasagnariet food truck parked among the festival stalls, serving comfort food with a touch of Italy to match the cultural feast around you. Until then, we’ll be in the crowd this summer—tasting, listening, and soaking up every layer.
